This market is a Catch-22. No food processor wants to have contamination in their products.
The Quansor monitor is computer-controlled; it provides continuous-flow data regarding the absence or presence of target contaminants such as E. coli or mercury. Food safety can be maintained. But that not the concern.
The obvious issue is security. The data can be secured and retained in-house, but that is not assured. See: Snowden, Edward. But even security is not the main concern.
Food companies are very leery of government regulators who can demand disclosure of such data. The concern is what consequences would follow if any contamination event were disclosed.
